Button didn’t. Rosberg’s car lifted the drain cover and Button then hit it.

The main picture at the top of the page shows Button’s car with the front wing damage caused by hitting the drain cover.

  2. I thought drivers were still disallowed to change their helmet layout? Massa certainly has gone with the special helmet for this race weekeend.

    1. They have been granted dispensation for this weekend.

      1. my understanding is they are allowed one change. Most choose this weekend. But allowed one option helmet style…

  3. Does anyone know how the lead photograph has been taken? (the pretty sparks all in ‘speed blur’) It looks identical to how film cameras used to show the sparks but given the short time frame I presume this must be on a digital camera…

    1. Probably all effects produced by a film camera can also be made using a digital one. And yes these guys use digital. I think the photographer used panning and a relatively slow shutter speed. Compare Ric, Rai and Rio photos of the rear of their cars: slow, medium and fast shutter. The sparks are giving long, medium and no trace respectively.

  4. What’s Maldonado doing between these picture?
