Babis1980 only scored 17 points in the Canadian Grand Prix round of the Predictions Championship – but it’s more than anyone else managed.

It was a low-scoring round as less than 5% of players correctly predicted Jenson Button to win.

Babis1980 and runner-up TommyB89 were among the few who did. They scooped the prizes of Duke F1 DVDs and an F1 Fanatic mug respectively (see below for details).

Jon Finn remains in the lead of the championship by four points from Dondada. Pukz joins Ali Brown and Straightline in a three-way tie for third.

Remember there’s prizes to be won in every round, so get your predictions in for the European Grand Prix below. You can edit your prediction up to the start of qualifying.

Find out where you are in the championship standings and have a look at the statistics so far here:

You can enter your predictions for all the remaining rounds below and on the Predictions Championship page (under Community > Predictions Championship in the menu).

You can edit a prediction for any race up until the deadline for entries which is the start of qualifying at each round.

    1. UP in 14th place…only got 7 points.

do we have a link where we can see the scoring system for the predictions?

      1. It’s explained in the rules in the article.

      2. only got 7 points.

Get out of here! 7 points was one of the best scores in this round.

        1. I got 7 and I thought I did horrible this round. I guess I did do horribly but everyone else just did horribly-er.

          1. 8-tenths off pole time. Only one driver in the top 5 in correct position. 2 drivers in my top 5 didnt finish. How the hell did so many people do worse than that?

        2. seeing the results, i guess i did rather well..wat at 20 moved up to 14
so i am satisfied now..if only alonso had not retired.maybe entry into top ten would have been possible..

i think valencia will be high scoring as it is very predictable and worst of all the new tracks..

          1. if only alonso had not retired.maybe…

…maybe those who are now behind you would’ve scored more points.

Yes, Alonso and Hamilton screwed up my predictions… I “only” got 11 points (my highest ever) and now I’m on the 434th place… I’m near the top hahahahha

    2. Pfft only 4 points. I thought I’d put Vettel in 2nd but I didn’t. Only cost me a point anyway.

That’s the last time I’m picking Alonso for a podium!

      1. Dude.. you’ve got to stop that. I got 4 points in this round as well. Thats 6 out of 7 rounds we’ve got identical scores in.

        1. Hahahaha!

      2. LOL, i messed up badly due to a laggy PC. Tested the system in putting Sutil first and some fun things in the race, then changed back, but I did not manage to change it in time so had 0 points (a bit strange, as I think I had Vettel for pole, when I think about it).
Thats dropped me to 161 overall!

        1. Yeah.. from last round’s winner to zero points in this round. Fortunes might not always change in F1, but they do in the prediction championship.

        2. LOL, I went more conservative, but had Hamilton win it with Alonso second, not a great idea :-p Four points.

      3. 4 points for me, too. I’m now down in 434th. :(

        1. Actually, I scored 5! :D (Sorry for pressing the wrong key! :P)

3 points. I gambled on the rain and hoped for the best. I can’t find the email but I think I had Nico and Alonso making appearances along with Vettel, Webber, and Hamilton.

I’m going to need some DRS points to blow through the pack.

        1. Same here. Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton, Webber, Rosberg. Managed to get Vettel in the right place though.

    3. plz ignore my request for the link…i got it..sorry

    4. The perfect way to end our F1 Fanatic party :)

      1. can they be split 7ways? haha

    5. wow, I had forgotten I had Button for the win

    6. keith how can I find out my F1F password? i can’t log on on other computers coz i can remember it!

      1. should say ‘can’t remember it’.

    7. Only 4 points. My recent ability to predict who gets pole is saving me from being awful.

Things may have been somewhat better if Button hadn’t hit and knocked out of the race the drivers I predicted to finish 1st and 2nd… Though I suspect lots of others could say something similar.

      1. Predicting pole is somewhat obvious at the moment ;)

        1. I agree, not only did Button take out my predicted winner (Alonso) but I didn’t even tip Jenson in my top 5 ! Still, I was so happy to see someone other than Vettel win, I didn’t care about my abysmal tipping efforts.

But did anyone? Nico and Alonso had fantastic practice times, you’d think he didn’t have a chance. And if he wasn’t driving a tank, he might not have.

    8. I had my best result in Turkey and it’s been downhill ever since! Shocking stuff. I’m 11 points behind MattHT (the arch-nemesis and housemate).

Dread to think how i’m faring up against some of the other regulars :/

Well done Babis1980. TommyB89, you need to bring that mug with you next time we go for a drink ;)

    9. Sort of typical that the one race I go conservative on my predictions, Schumi does well, Vettel doesn’t win and Hamilton and Alonso crash out! I dread to think what I got…

    10. Still 14th! First time I predicted Vettel not winning. I was right to predict him second. 6 points only in this round.

    11. I got 11pt! I think I have to consider myself greatly satisfied :-)

52nd for the moment, and a 30pt deficit from the lead. I really need a strong result if I want to be back in the hunt for the prizes!

    12. Erk 2 points, going from bad to worse this season

    13. I’m not putting Rosberg or Alonso in the top 3 again. I’ve been overrating Merc recently! 6 points for me

    14. Keith please also tell which driver was most chosen for pole and win.

I guess for pole majority would have chosen Vettel and for race Alonso or Hamilton.

      1. See the race-by-race statistics link in the article.

    15. 5 points and now I’m number 100 in the competition. But I had the most frequent guess of the first 5.
Anyway I think the race was entertaining, exciting and good. Looking forward to see if this gives more players the courage to predict unconservative for next race? If only Mercedes could fix their tyre wear issue, we could get a team more in the top 5 mix regularly.
