Yes exactly. In the last 3 races, he managed to jump the guy in front, but twice let him by. It’s kind of OK with Ham at Singapore (tighter, team-mate)… But here ? sooooo much room to close the door.
This is yet another example of how weird was the selection of replays that the Japanese guys were showing us. They never showed how did this happen. We could see how Button got through, but never how Alonso got the position back.
The first 3 starters on the pit side of the grid, WEB, ALO, ROS, had bad starts. Next on that side was Ham who had a good start. Button had a good start behind VET & KUB but was slowed at turn 1 when he closed on WEB, drifted a little wide and let ALO back through. The wide variety in speed off the line was associated with the early accidents.

4th… He jumped Alonso once more, and still managed to loose 1 position at the exit of turn 1.
